The worst Oscars ever? In my opinion, yes!

What was up with last night's Oscar's?  I have so many complaints I don't even know where to begin...oh wait, yes I do.  Here we go!  First of all, E! HD was down & had been for 2 days & I had been tweeting at them for 2 days telling them to fix the issue in time for the carpet & obviously they didn't.  Not that I thought that I had the power that they would listen to anything I had to say but I'm guessing that nobody else complained or the issue would have been fixed in time.  What is the point in watching the red carpet when I can't see every flaw on each person being critiqued?  I was stuck watching the first hour of red carpet on my tiny TV in my bedroom because the non-HD picture on my HDTV happens to be much worse than the non-HD picture on my non-HDTV.  Thankfully an hour after that I was able to move over to ABC HD & watch the rest of the red carpet from there but back to E!.  Ryan Seacrest was doing the interviews & Giuliana Rancic & Kelly Osbourne were talking about the fashions & that was it.  There were no interviews with G who I think is a far better interviewer than Ryan & there was no Jay Manuel & Glam Cam 360!  At the Oscars?  What the eff were they thinking?  I felt like they threw this together last minute on a minimal budget & I was very unimpressed with their coverage.

Once I moved over to ABC HD I was able to see the actual colors of the dresses, the wrinkles on people's faces, the patchy facial hair that most every guy on the carpet was sporting (it looked like shit) & interviews with Tim Gunn which just made the carpet for me, he's so wonderful & sweet & more sincere than Ryan.  After all of the red carpet blitz with Tim & the ABC crew the show started & I really enjoyed the montage intro with Anne & James & that's where my enjoyment stopped.  The best part of the whole night was when Billy Crystal came out & introduced Bob Hope because Anne & James were not good hosts, at all.  James seemed almost as bored as I was, just reading the prompter word for word & not putting any life into any of his bits & then Anne, come on, she was the complete opposite.  I was wondering if she was trying to make up for James' lack of enthusiasm by over compensating or something because nobody is that excited & happy, it seemed so fake & insincere.  I also couldn't stand the fact that Anne is obviously a "woo" girl & had to "woo" into the mic every time someone came out on stage, was she not aware that her woos were WAY louder than they would be if she were in the audience & not wearing a mic?

I didn't enjoy all of the musical errors last night either...people were talking & trying to announce something/someone while music is just playing in the background loud as hell, like Tom Hanks & the Titanic bit, he was telling a story & all the while this loud ass music is just playing.  I was extremely uncomfortable with the whole Kirk Douglas thing, I couldn't understand some of what he was saying but people were laughing so I wish they would have put subtitles up because I didn't know if people were laughing with or at the man.

The lack of Corey Haim in the "memoriam" section wasn't cool...I didn't realize it until I saw something posted today because I already saw him in a "memoriam" on something else so I assumed he was on there last year but he was just skipped altogether & that's not cool.  I grew up with him & even though he was a mess he was still an actor & still deserved to be mentioned.

I didn't think that Gwyneth sounded very good & why was that Florence song even nominated it was like 10 seconds?  The lack of funny throughout the whole show was a real problem for me, and at least one of the "jokes" was poorly researched.  When Sandra was up presenting the award for best actor she said to Jesse Eisenberg "I'm still waiting for you to accept my friend request on Facebook, I mean it" and guess what?  He doesn't have a Facebook account & neither does Justin Timberlake & this information is public knowledge & had been talked about quite a bit when the movie came out so again, I was thinking "who wrote this?".

All in all, I spent the awards show on my iPod playing games & eating a shit ton of Easter candy...because I was bored senseless!  I should have tuned in for Showtime Sunday & watched the Oscars on my DVR tonight so I could have FFWD through 85% of it.  In my opinion, this was by far the worst Oscars show I've ever seen.
