Emmy wrap up!

Opening of the show
So, the Emmy's were on Sunday night & I of course tuned in for them & though I don't really care for Jimmy Fallon I didn't really have much of a choice since he was the host but luckily he wasn't really on the show much & when he was he was just doing the same damn thing...either singing or making a bad joke.  That's all beside the point though, the awards are what the show is all about & I have to say that I was very happy with the outcome of the majority of the awards.  Below I've posted the same list I posted before the Emmy's & my predictions are in yellow & winners in teal...those that have no yellow are those I predicted accurately.

Drama Series: "Breaking Bad," AMC; "Dexter," Showtime; "The Good Wife," CBS; "Lost," ABC; "True Blood," HBO; "Mad Men," AMC.

Comedy Series: "Curb Your Enthusiasm," HBO; "Glee," Fox; "Modern Family," ABC; "The Office," NBC; "Nurse Jackie," Showtime; "30 Rock," NBC.

Actor, Drama Series: Bryan Cranston, "Breaking Bad," AMC; Michael C. Hall, "Dexter," Showtime; Kyle Chandler, "Friday Night Lights," DirecTV; Hugh Laurie, "House," Fox; Matthew Fox, "Lost," ABC; Jon Hamm, "Mad Men," AMC.

Actress, Drama Series: Kyra Sedgwick, "The Closer," TNT; Glenn Close, "Damages," FX; Connie Britton, "Friday Night Lights," DirecTV; Julianna Margulies, "The Good Wife," CBS; Mariska Hargitay, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," NBC; January Jones, "Mad Men," AMC.

Actor, Comedy Series: Jim Parsons, "The Big Bang Theory," CBS; Larry David, "Curb Your Enthusiasm," HBO; Matthew Morrison, "Glee," Fox; Tony Shalhoub, "Monk," USA; Steve Carell, "The Office," NBC; Alec Baldwin, "30 Rock," NBC.

Actress, Comedy Series: Lea Michele, "Glee," Fox; Julia Louis-Dreyfus, "The New Adventures of Old Christine," CBS; Edie Falco, "Nurse Jackie," Showtime; Amy Poehler, "Parks and Recreation," NBC; Tina Fey, "30 Rock," NBC; Toni Collette, "United States of Tara," Showtime.

Personally I did think it was pretty cool that Kyra Sedgwick won for her category as she has yet to win & her show has been on for like 5 seasons.  Edie Falco winning for Nurse Jackie made me so very happy because I just love that show & I love her in it but I thought for sure she would get beat out by Toni Collette.  It's not posted here but John Lithgow won for best supporting actor for Dexter which I thought was awesome, I had predicted that someone from Lost would win but Lithgow played such an awesome character last season I really wanted him to take it home.  The same goes for Jane Lynch, I wanted her to win but thought that Sofia Vergara would but was happily surprised to see Sue Sylvester nab that trophy.  The biggest shock of the night was Top Chef winning for best reality competition show which freaking ruled!  For the first time in 7 years Amazing Race didn't win this category, way to go Top Chef!  I would also like to give props to the academy for not giving much of anything to Lost...that show sucked, granted I only watched the first episode but that was all I needed to know that it wouldn't be worth my time.  The full list of nominees & winners can be found here.

The Emmy's are coming, The Emmy's are coming!!

I don't know about you guys but it seems to me that these were just on but I think I'm thinking of the Globes since I recall Michael C. Hall winning for season 4 of the show & that's what he's nominated for this time as well.  Anyway, I'm sure a lot of pointless awards will go to Lost since it was the final season and all but I'd rather they go to people from the shows I watch & this year it's tough.  Almost every category out there has multiple nominees that I'm rooting for because I can never choose my favorite when my choices are Dexter & True Blood!  I'm sure it will be an awesome night of television fun although the awards are unfortunately being hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the un-funniest man on TV!  Here is a link to all of the nominees if you want to make some decisions for yourself but here are my predictions for the big ones, those in green are what I want & those in yellow are what I think will actually win (the one that has no green means I think who I want will win):

Drama Series: "Breaking Bad," AMC; "Dexter," Showtime; "The Good Wife," CBS; "Lost," ABC; "True Blood," HBO; "Mad Men," AMC.

Comedy Series: "Curb Your Enthusiasm," HBO; "Glee," Fox; "Modern Family," ABC; "The Office," NBC; "Nurse Jackie," Showtime; "30 Rock," NBC.

Actor, Drama Series: Bryan Cranston, "Breaking Bad," AMC; Michael C. Hall, "Dexter," Showtime; Kyle Chandler, "Friday Night Lights," DirecTV; Hugh Laurie, "House," Fox; Matthew Fox, "Lost," ABC; Jon Hamm, "Mad Men," AMC.

Actress, Drama Series: Kyra Sedgwick, "The Closer," TNT; Glenn Close, "Damages," FX; Connie Britton, "Friday Night Lights," DirecTV; Julianna Margulies, "The Good Wife," CBS; Mariska Hargitay, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," NBC; January Jones, "Mad Men," AMC.

Actor, Comedy Series: Jim Parsons, "The Big Bang Theory," CBS; Larry David, "Curb Your Enthusiasm," HBO; Matthew Morrison, "Glee," Fox; Tony Shalhoub, "Monk," USA; Steve Carell, "The Office," NBC; Alec Baldwin, "30 Rock," NBC.

Tune in to NBC on Sunday at 8 to see who wins & who gets robbed!

Food Wars, in the D!!

Season 2 of Food Wars premieres tonight at 10 PM on the travel channel.  Tonight's battle is a local one, American Coney Island and Lafayette Coney Island which are located right next door to each other on Lafayette are going head to head for the best hot dog.  I think I may have to judge for myself though, my next free weekend I'm going downtown to eat both dogs & see if I agree with Camille Ford & the blindfolded judges who include Carmen Harlan.

Catching up on shows

Let's start with Mad Men shall we?  Poor little Sally, she seems a little young to be getting turned on by older men on TV no?  She's what like 8 or something & she's playing with herself at a sleepover...I was a little confused as to what was going on since they only showed her rubbing her own knee & then when the mom saw her & looked so shocked I assumed that's what she had done but had no clue until the mom told Betty.  Obviously poor Sally is having issues with the divorce & I think getting her into therapy is a good choice & they should probably put the boy in too, just to be safe.  I could not believe Roger's behavior toward Honda, but I guess that's how things were done back then...everyone was a racist & a homophobe & it was ok to be that way, what a mess.

Next we have to discuss Jersey Housewives...first up I need to say that I can't stand the way Jacqueline calls Danielle "Dinielle" it grates on my last nerve every time she says it.  Now, I know I've said it before but I feel so bad for Danielle's kids, she talks to them like they are her peers & they aren't, they are her children & should be treated as such.  I'm not saying she should baby them or anything but she talks with them like she would talk with her friends & that is inappropriate until the kids are at least 21.  Keeping on the kid track, I feel so sorry for the women who marry Caroline's sons...they are such mama's boys it's sick & no woman will ever compare to her in their eyes & that sucks.  I thoroughly enjoyed watching the meeting with Caroline & Danielle but I totally agreed with Danielle that she shouldn't drop the charges against Ashley, you can't learn from mistakes when nobody makes you pay for them!  Ohter than that though I totally agreed with Caroline because Danielle is garbage & a clown & completely delusional when she is receiving energy  assistance through the phone & bringing an armed entourage of ex cons to a meeting with a single person.  It's been rumored that she has been kicked off of the show so I really hope that is the truth since I don't ever want to see her face (or her square tits) again!

Next up we shall discuss Weeds & The Big C.  Weeds is off to a good start though I have to admit that I'm getting really sick of them constantly being on the run, it's always something with them but I guess that is the life of a drug dealer, right?  The Botwin's are now the Newman's and on their way to somewhere now that Shane killed Pilar.  I'm going to take this moment to say that I don't like Shane, I've thought for a few seasons now that the kid needed therapy, especially after he was jerking it to his mom's naked pic but now that he thinks he's super cool for being a murderer I really think he needs therapy.  I'm very curious to see where this season takes us and next week looks like they are getting back into the old ways of the weed...we shall see what unfolds but I sure hope it includes the rest of the cast.  This family moves around so much that we keep losing some of the best characters like Lupita, Heylia & Conrad though we had Lupita for a moment last season she's gone again.  I sure hope Doug, Dean, Celia, and Isabelle show back up because they are the only humor left on the show!

The Big C is good but it's only 2 episodes in & I'm already annoyed by the fact that she won't tell anyone she has cancer.  Her poor dorky son has no clue why he has to stay home all summer & he just thinks his mother is crazy when in reality she's dying which brings me to the big question, after say 2 seasons she would be dead so then what?  Laura Linney is great on the show, actually the whole cast is but no matter how you slice it I never buy Oliver Platt as a straight guy on any show or in any movie, I don't know if he's straight or not in real life but he seems pretty damn gay on screen.  Precious is also on the show (I can't spell her name) and surprisingly enough she plays the fat girl!  Laura is her summer school teacher & is paying her $100 per pound that she loses but so far all she does is snack & complain that she's not losing weight.  I'm not getting the point of Laura's brother yet, he's kind of annoying but I'm hoping will serve a purpose at some point.  I can't wait to see where this show goes for the rest of the season so if you haven't checked it out yet you really should because Showtime has done it again!  Oh yeah that reminds me, I must have been half asleep when I saw the commercial stating that the 2 ladies would be on the season premiere of each others show...I saw the same commercial last night & that is not the case at all, no guest appearances.

New show on ABC Family

So there is a new show starting on ABC Family tonight at 8 PM, it's a sitcom starring Melissa Joan Hart & Joey Lawrence & the name is very clever...Melissa & Joey.  I'm sure they thought long & hard about that one!  Anyway it looks like it might actually be kind of cute/funny as Joey plays Melissa's manny. See, her sibling is in prison so she's inherited the kids for a while & being a politician of sorts doesn't have the time to be a mom type so enter Joey who needs a job & has agreed to be the manny. I'm sure in Who's the Boss fashion the 2 of them will likely hook up at some point, unless they are somehow related which I don't think is the case.  So if you need something to watch at 8 check it out & if not don't.  Happy viewing!!

It's high time for Weeds to return!

The new season of Weeds starts tonight at 10 on Showtime! I'm not sure what this season has in store for us but hopefully it's better than the last season which I thought totally sucked, it lost it's funny & the whole Mexican/Colombian drug cartel turn the show has taken is kind of lame.  There was one hell of a cliffhanger at the end of last season though, shit!  I cannot wait to see what's going to come of all of that but it better be good so I will definitely be tuned in tonight & then after Weeds we have the premiere of the new show The Big C starring Laura Linney & Oliver Platt (both of whom I love) and Laura finds out she has cancer & that's the basis for the show.  I did catch a little commercial last night for these shows & I guess Mary Louise Parker will be on The Big C tonight & Laura Linney will be on Weeds...not sure if they are on as their characters from their own shows or different characters completely but it will still be fun!

It's time to Hassle the Hoff

Tonight at 10 PM on Comedy Central is the Roast of David Hasselhoff which I'm sure will be hilarious & some of the roasters seem to have roasting as a career like Jeffrey Ross, Greg Giraldo, Lisa Lampanelli & Gilbert Gottfried.  I think ripping on people as a career sounds pretty damn awesome to me.  I don't know when they will air the unedited version of the roast (probably the following Friday) but personally watching them all bleeped out just ruins them.  I won't be able to tune in for this as it's Sunday night & I'm one busy bitch with the TV on Sundays!

Ding dong, Tits is gone! (spoilers inside)

Hell yes people, I'm so damn happy that Rachel was voted out of the house but I really wanted her to go before sequester started because even though she's out of the house we still have to deal with her & her obnoxious laugh!  See I don't have any issues with how she played the game because she played it very well but I don't like her...I don't like her face, her laugh, her big ass fake tits, her fake ass hair, her fake eyelashes...everything about this bitch is so superficial & fake fake fake & I loathe her.

Brandon has won HOH & I'm going to assume that he'll put up Matt & Britney but we all know that Matt has the DPOV (am I the only one who thinks of porn when they see POV?) so he would obviously take himself off the block & some are speculating that he'd put up Kathy but I kind of think he'd put up Ragan.  Brendon is such a freaking sap & a pussy & I loved seeing his ex talk about him yesterday because I can totally see that he doesn't accept people for who they are unless they already are who he wants them to be.  Can you say high maintenance?  I really hope he goes home next week since he obviously won't be going this week being HOH and all.  I'm still not rooting for any one person in particular except for Ragan because I always vote for the gay from the get go.  Other than him I like Britney but the others can go...I mean what's up with Lane?  Nobody sees him as a threat & he seems to be flying under the radar constantly, I keep forgetting he's even on the damn show, kind of like Mike from Real World Miami.  Anyway, I can't wait to see what's going to happen on Sunday & see if he nominates Matt & Britney or Matt & Ragan.  I'm sure he'll put Matt up but he obviously has no clue that he got that DPOV from Pandora's Box so this will be good shit on Wednesday!

My take on these new housewives & other stuff

So are you guys watching Real Housewives D.C.?  I checked out the first episode & actually watched it a few times & I have come to the conclusion that I don't like this crew of women or this season at all & I will not be a devoted viewer.  Just because the show takes place in D.C. I didn't really expect it to be so damn political & I freaking hate politics.  So far the whole first episode was about racism & politics & that's not fun or interesting.  There's this obnoxious British bitch named Catherine who said she didn't like Tyra Banks & Stacie & her friend acted like Catherine said she liked to drive over kittens for fun.  I don't like Tyra Banks either & it's not because she's black it's because she's freaking obnoxious & totally full of herself but guess what?  I don't like Catherine (better known as Cat) either & she is married to Charles (with her accent it's Chawls) who is one of the White House photographers & also her high school sweetheart & also all she effing talks about.

Then we have Michaele who is beyond skinny & a total ditz.  She says she is smart & has substance but I've yet to see it.  She's married to a fairly unattractive rich guy & I'm sure that's why she married him...this one really reminds me of the typical TV Housewife, rich & clueless.  This couple are the ones who will crash the White House later this season & that episode I will watch but I won't be tuning in weekly.

Stacie is way too political for me, everything she talks about revolves around the President & after one episode I'm sick of it.

Mary is married to an ugly guy who was named as some sort of style setter in D.C. though Mary told us that the only reason he was in the magazine was that they knew the editor or some shit.  I mean, this guy is no more a style setter than I am, he dresses worse than Simon!  This chick thinks her shit don't stink, and that's about all I got out of her...she got all political at a dinner as well & I had to FFWD through it.

Last up in Lynda & this bitch is a cougar, she's been married & divorced more than once & has 4 kids.  She owns one of the top modeling agencies in D.C. & is dating a guy named Ebong who is probably 15 years or more younger than her, more than a foot taller & blacker than night.  He doesn't say much so I like him but Lynda seems a little too narcissistic for me, it's one thing to tell people that you love yourself & think you are the shit but it's totally different when you are telling anyone that will listen how awesome you are & that they aren't in your tier.

So enough about these bitches, congrats to Abdi who was the winner of the first season of Work of Art which ended last night.  His pieces were really something else all season long, the kid has an amazing eye & is very skilled, I think he'll do well!

Oh yeah, the season finale of So You Think You Can Dance is on tonight.

Tuesday premieres

First up we have a show called Shaq vs. which will air on ABC at 9 PM, this show seems pointless & stupid & I will not be watching it.  Shaq will be taking on other athletes in their own sports, why you ask?  I have no freaking clue but if you want to see the beast take on Dale Earnhardt Jr. in Nascar then you better tune in tonight!

Up against Shaq at 9 on Oxygen is the new season of The Bad Girls Club & you would think that I watch this show but I don't...it's a bunch of grown ass women acting like 18 year old sluts doing too much bitching & yelling & I'm gonna kick your assing for me, no thanks!

Then up at 10 on Spike we have the season premiere of Scrappers...it's about a bunch of dudes who scrap & not like scrap-booking or fighting they pick up trash & other junk & turn it in for cash.

Personally I think I'm going to stop on the way home & rent a movie to watch before tuning into the season finale of Kathy Griffin, My Life on the D List at 9 on Bravo!!  After that you can catch a sneak peek of the new season of The Rachel Zoe Project at 10.
