Tonight...Walking Dead

Tonight at 10 PM is the premiere of Walking Dead, I have no clue what it is about nor do I have any intention of watching it but if you want to learn more about it then click this.
 

Project Runway...what a huge disappointment!

This post is full of spoilers, if you have yet to watch the episode then stop reading right now!  So last night was the season finale of Project Runway and...it sucked!  The final 3 contestants were Andy, Gretchen, and Mondo (you can watch the final episode here)  and of those 3 my least favorite contestant was Gretchen basically because she thought very highly of herself from day one & I found that very unlikeable.  Gretchen was a decent designer but many of her challenge looks were just plain old lady or boring & honestly the final line wasn't much different.  Well no, the final line was more modern but still boring in my opinion.  Her clothes looked like clothes I could go to Kohl's and buy today & that my friend, does not a fashion show make.  She used the same material in all of her looks; the whole collection was brown satiny patterned clothes with dark green leather trim so even if the prints were different they all still looked the same.

Andy's collection was pretty & gray.  It was obvious as soon as Andy's show was over that he was out...the construction & the fabric were both beautiful but aside from a few green accent items the entire collection was dove gray.  Personally I feel that gray is the new black & seems to be a color I purchase often but I wouldn't want a gray closet.

Mondo's collection was my favorite!  Talk about a designer, he had all kinds of looks, his clothes were quirky & colorful & fun not to mention impeccably sewn.  I did agree (with Nina) that his line looked a little childlike but that was what I really enjoyed about it...it didn't take itself too seriously & so many of the pieces could be bought & paired with clothes from your closet to spice things up.  Gretchen was the exact opposite...no matter what you paired her stuff with it would still be boring clothes that every random gal could get her hands on at Target or Sears which is fine but top designers are supposed to create fashion for their fashion shows!  Anyway, the basis of Mondo's line was black & white but he had hot pink, neon blue, brown, yellow...etc. accents throughout & so many pieces that I wanted.  Michael Kors complained about the high waisted plaid pants but I thought they were great because I'm 5 feet tall & those pants made that model look 10 feet tall so I might actually look 5'5" in them.  The one thing I didn't get was how much everyone loved the clown t-shirt because it looked like something you pick up at a flea market or something your cooky aunt would get you for Christmas that you would later use as a rag.  

One question...what was up with Jessica Simpson's mouth? She was talking like she had a d**k in it!

If you can't already tell by all of my ranting obviously my favorite designer (Mondo) didn't win & that stupid annoying Gretchen did!  This was not Project Ready to Wear, this was Project Runway & Mondo put on the best show & should have won.  This season finale was the biggest disappointment for me in Project Runway history!

A new show called Hollywood Treasure starts tonight on SyFy at 10:00 PM, auctions will be held weekly & you can try to win an item from one of your favorite SyFy shows!!
 

Dance Cam Slam...

Tonight a new show called Dance Cam Slam is starting up on VH1 at 10:00 PM...the show looks pretty stupid but it could be funny I suppose.  You can submit your dance video to the show for a chance to win $5,000.
 

In Treatment returns

I've never seen this show but I've heard good things about it so perhaps one of these days I'll check it out.  Tonight won't be that day but don't let me stop you from watching it so tune in to HBO at 9 PM for the third season premiere of In Treatment.
 

Football Wives

A new series is premiering tonight on VH1 at 10:30 called Football Wives & it's pretty much a wannabe Real Housewives except it's following the lives of 8 (trashy looking if I may say so) women who are married to either current or former football players.
 

Glee photo shoot controversy

There was a photo shoot done with Dianna Agron (24), Leah Michelle (24), and Cory Monteith (28) of Glee for GQ magazine & in it they definitely aren't dressed like they normally dress on the show & the Parental Television Council is all up in arms about it & I don't see what the big deal is about this issue of the magazine!

"It is disturbing that GQ, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on 'Glee' in this way. It borders on pedophilia. Sadly, this is just the latest example of the overt sexualization of young girls in entertainment," PTC's President Tom Winter said in a statement.

Ok, the key to this whole argument is the fact that the photos were taken of real people who are 24 & 28 years old...they play high school students on a TV show, they aren't students in real life!  I'm curious, did this group of parents have any issues with the fact that Agron was playing a pregnant high school student last season who tried to sell her baby to her teacher's wife?  Obviously her character had to do a hell of a lot more than pose for a slutty picture to end up pregnant right?  Of course...she had to get naked & have sex...which is worse?  

How can these photos border on pedophilia when 

they are photos of grown ass adults?  Yes the pics are racy but they aren't in Seventeen magazine they are in GQ which is a magazine for adult males & I can definitely say that the cover pretty much tells you what to expect inside so a parent wouldn't let their kid look at it.  I mean, it isn't like it's a picture of the 3 of them on the cover dressed like their characters & then you open it up & see Michelle's vag.  Monteith has his hands on both of the girls' asses & the tag line is "Glee gone wild" so why would a mom buy that for their kid to begin with?  Stuff like this comes down to parenting, not publishing. 

It also said in this article "Unfortunately, it seems 'Glee' is only masquerading as (a) family show and is far from appropriate for young viewers," Winter said. Glee is a family show but certainly not a family show for kids under the age of 13, little kids should not be watching it to begin with but bottom line is that Glee is a family show & GQ is not a family magazine...case closed!

 

Tailgate Warriors

Tune into The Food Network tonight at 10 PM to check out the premiere of Tailgate Warriors with Guy Fieri.  The first episode takes place outside the stadium where the Buffalo Bills are going up against the Chicago Bears.  

 

Nancy Botwin er um Natalie Newman is from my home town!

After finally getting around to watching Weeds from this past Monday I saw the preview for next week...where Nancy returns to her home town (and mine) of Dearborn Michigan to hook up with an old teacher that she apparently had some intimate time with ages ago.  I don't really know anything else about the episode aside from the fact that it wasn't filmed in Dearborn (or anywhere else in the area) and the old teacher is played by Richard Dreyfuss!
 

Celebrity Apprentice...new cast for 2011

I do not watch this show but with a cast like this I just may have to tune in...just reading this list all I can think is that this season will somehow be a spoof on all of the seasons who have gone before!!  The cast list has been leaked & here is who is in store for us:

Time to put the Stanger in NYC!

Tonight at 9:00 PM tune in to Bravo! for the season premiere of The Millionaire Matchmaker which takes place in NYC this season.  I can't wait to see Patti do her magic in the big apple & now that she's single I wonder if she'll be doing any matchmaking for herself?
 

Mad Men season 4 ends

Last night was the season finale of Mad Men & what a disappointment that was...not the episode but the fact that the season ended!  It's like True Blood, 12/13 weeks of fun & then gone & while I enjoy the fact that there's no reruns & no weeks where the show isn't on (aside from maybe 1 or 2 for awards shows) I hate the fact that now I have to wait 9 months for it to start again.

Spoilers galore from this point on.  Did anyone else think it was a dream when Don proposed to Megan?  That's one thing I don't like about this show...the way it just skips huge portions & then splices you into something else.  One minute the kids, Don, and Megan are getting ready to head to Disney Land in California & the next thing you know she is in his bed at home in New York & he's proposing to her with the ring that Anna left him which was the ring that Don gave her.  I honestly don't know if I'll be able to handle Megan as Mrs. Don Draper...her & those damn teeth, ugh!  I also felt super awful for poor Faye when Don called & told her that he was getting married to someone else & I think the thing that upset me most about him choosing Megan is the fact that she doesn't know who he really is & Faye did.  Don is obviously most comfortable being Don & not Dick & since his last connection to Dick is gone I think he feels as though he can go back to the guy he was with Betty...a total douche bag who lives a lie.  Can you imagine poor Faye getting that call?  One minute you think you have a boyfriend & the next minute he's telling you that he fell in love with someone else & he's getting married?  I'd go crazy!  If you didn't see the proposal, you can check it out here in this behind the episode recap:

When Don & Megan announced the news to everyone it was pretty obvious that they were all a little shocked by it but on the same note happy for them as we all know that Don certainly isn't the first exec to marry his secretary on the show.

The next bomb that shocked me was the fact that Betty fired Carla after Carla had been working for them for like 10+ years...what the eff was that all about?  I mean, I know it was because of that creepy obnoxious kid from down the street but I mean seriously, he was there all of 5 minutes & the issues that Betty has with that kid all started with her giving him that lock of her hair & she just totally took it out on Carla.  If you ask me, Betty is in major need of therapy & some self confidence, I think she feels helpless in many ways & maybe like her new husband doesn't take care of her the way her old one did.  I don't know, I could be totally wrong but I don't see Betty & Henry lasting forever either.

The last news that shocked the hell out of me was Joan talking to her husband about the baby...the one she supposedly had aborted because it's Roger's & not her husbands.  There was some speculation after the abortion episode aired that maybe she didn't go through with it but given the fact that the kid wasn't her husbands I never once thought that maybe she didn't do it!

Speaking of Joan...I felt for her when they promoted her but didn't increase her pay...we've all been there Joan & it sucks to only sound more important while your budget doesn't afford you to look more important.  I also loved the little chat that her & Peggy had (while Peggy smoked which surprised me) about Don & Megan's news right after Peggy showed Don her concern & the fact that Don new she was concerned honestly made me tear up a bit.  I love the dynamic between Don & Peggy because I honestly think that she is the only woman he views as his equal & I think that he respects her & her choices & the fact that they both know so many of each others secrets just increases their bond so much more. Beverly Hills housewives

First of all I would like to say that I think I'm in love with Jiggy the dog!  Second I thought Kelsey & his wife were already divorced when they started filming this so I'm super excited to watch all of this drama go down!!  Only one episode in & I'm totally hooked on this crew of ladies primarily because they make the rest of the housewives look like white trash broke ass women who live in cardboard boxes.  I am not going to go into all of the luxuries that these women have but I will tell you that Kelsey Grammar's wife has 4 nannies for 2 kids, the Maloof broad rented a private jet to go to a basketball game in Sacramento, and one of the other wives bartered with her husband or rather he bartered with her...for each hour she let him play golf she could spend $1,000!!!  Why am I not rich?

Tonight at 8:00 PM tune in to NBC for the premiere of the new series School Pride where rundown schools are renovated to build & promote community pride.

The real 90210!!

The time has finally arrived...the series premiere of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills starts tonight at 10 PM on Bravo! following part 1 of the Real Housewives of DC reunion show.  I can't wait to see what this season has for us...with Kelsey Grammar's rich ass ex wife & a Maloof in the mix I can only imagine the drama that is about to be upon us & I'm so excited!
 

What's eating you?

I'm sure many of you have seen the commercials on E! for this new series that is starting tonight...in the commercial we see a woman eat a piece of chalk & I have to say that as soon as I saw that I was intrigued. The tag line for this show is "true stories of food, fear, and obsession" and I'm sure that everyone has some sort of food issue but this show appears to really dive in to real food issues, not just the usual "I ate too much yesterday & I'm fat so I'm not eating today" that I hear from people.  The people on here would probably say "I ate too much last Monday so I'm only eating lettuce & erasers this week".

Tonight we will meet Adrienne (pictured) who suffers from dysmorphia-induced anorexia and Dani who suffers from bulimia & has already cost her family over $100,000 related to her disease.  For more on the show click here.

I'm not into sci-fi so I don't watch SyFy but far be it from me to tell you what to watch!  Caprica returns tonight for its second season at 10 PM on SyFy.
 

Hold on to your wigs ladies...ATL is back!

The crazy ladies of Atlanta are back tonight at 9 PM & they've added 2 new ladies to the mix Cynthia Bailey who is a model with a 10 year old daughter & a boyfriend of 3 years who will be giving her an ultimatum this season.  There is also Phaedra Parks who is an entertainment lawyer & married to a younger man who did time for a "white collar crime" & this will be a major topic of discussion with the ladies.  I'm sure this season will be intense as Nene has troubles with her husband & from the commercials apparently issues with Dwight too & I can't wait to see these new ladies & the friction they bring to the rest of the group which no longer includes Lisa.
