Big Brother...best season yet!

Finally, for the first time since I've been watching Big Brother people are finally making some big moves and not just talking about making them.  In the past Frank wanted to put Dan up & back door him & he didn't because Boogie told him not to...clearly he should have because Dan is a pro at saving himself.  So first off we saw Danielle back door Janelle which came as a huge shock to her & myself as well but Boogie saw the opportunity to play on Danielle's weak spot (jealousy of Janelle) and greased her right into getting out his nemesis & his whole planned worked.

After that we had the double eviction week which kicked off with Ian's hard spy work coming to fruition...Boogie was evicted by Shane & man was he pissed, until he saw Ian's goodbye video & learned that Ian was the one who betrayed their trust and not Dan.  He tipped his hat to Ian who told him that he had learned from the best.  Immediately after Boogie's departure it was time for the HOH, POV & second eviction & Ian won HOH which meant he had to think fast & he went right for Frank up against Ashley.  Surprise, Frank won POV & saved himself so the replacement nominee was Joe & Ashley was sent packing...as the first jury member.

Things kicked into high gear here as Frank of course won the next HOH & he had to beat out every single other player & of course, he did & suddenly everyone wanted to team up with him...the one person who just prior had "nobody".  Frank of course nominated Dan & he also nominated Danielle so they could feel what it was like to be up against each other like he had been with Boogie.  Suddenly Pandora's Box rears its ugly head & Frank goes for it which unleashed a POV into the house...it was in the claw machine & change to play it with fell from the sky in plastic balls!  Ian won this special POV & guess who won the other one? Jenn, who had just teamed up with Frank.

The next move came here...Jenn used the POV to save Dan after Dan spilled the beans about Ian to Frank.  Frank put Britney up on the block next to Danielle since he couldn't put up Ian & it tore both her & Ian apart since they didn't see it coming & thought they were working with Dan.  Now, from what I understand Britney will be going home tonight but I would rather see Danielle leave because she annoys the hell out of me.

On another note...during the POV everyone had to take these punishments & Dan had to spend 24 hours in solitary disco/dance confinement.  Giving Dan 24 hours alone to make a plan isn't the best idea because as I said earlier, he told Frank all about Ian.  After his day in solitary he came out like a bull in a china shop and gathered everyone for a house meeting which he revealed was his BB funeral & he spoke to each person individually thanking them for whatever.  He told the group that he knew he was going home & he didn't want to talk game anymore & he basically told Danielle that she was a worthless dirty player for what she did to him which made her cry because she hadn't done anything.  Well, after Dan met with Frank & revealed the Quack Pack & Ian the mole he then went & met with Danielle & told her that his speech was all a big hoax to get them both safe.  Dan made a deal with Frank to get Jenn to use the veto to save him & bam a new team was born, they don't have a name yet but it's Dan, Danielle, Frank & Jenn.  I can't wait to see how this season unfolds because it's been so much fun to watch...the first few weeks kind of sucked but once the coaches came in to the game things got heated.

These next two HOH's are going to be key because Frank can't compete in either one which gives Shane a chance to make a move since he is the most likely person to win HOH if it's physical.

The Week the Women Went...I watched it...once

Lifetime has a new show called The Week the Women Went & it's about a small town in which all of the women over the age of 18 leave for a week.  The husbands, other men & children are left to handle things on their own.  Now I'm not your average woman, I don't want kids, I don't really like kids to be perfectly honest & I now realize that I wasn't raised by or around the average woman.  The women in my life have always worn the pants, had no problems leaving their husbands & or kids behind for any reason.  During the day to day women & men both worked, men did the outside housework (lawn, trash, handyman stuff, car repairs) while the women did the domestic stuff (cooking, dishes, laundry, daily kid stuff) but when it came time for trips dads were capable of taking care of mom stuff & moms were able to take care of dad stuff.  That is NOT the case in this town!  So many of the women were worried about leaving their men...it's only a freaking week!!!

I can understand not wanting to leave your child for a week with absolutely no communication with them for fear that something might happen but the men?  I don't understand any of the women who didn't have kids & were worried about leaving their man for a week because he can't take care of himself, that's clearly a problem.  There's a mom who is all beside herself because her 24 (might be younger) year old son, who happens to be the town Fire Chief , will suffer without her.  Right before all of the women left he proposed to his girlfriend & mom was so upset...she was sobbing & so disappointed that her son would dare to leave her.  Now she's away with the new fiance that she doesn't approve of...I sure as hell hope that the fiance is able to get in moms good graces & I also hope she doesn't have to do everything for her husband like his mother does!

There is another woman who is in her 30's & she's a single mom & is leaving her 3 kids (2 of them are teens) with her younger boyfriend to see if he can handle it.  There are two women who own businesses that are leaving them to their young kids to look after in their absence...the kids are in charge of these grown men, it's quiet funny to me.

As for the men, there is one guy (with a baby & a coffee drinking child) who found out the day the women left that he had to put together a fashion show in his mother's absence.  He enlisted the help of some other guys who have teamed up with their kids in one house hoping that they will make a good team & make things easier on each other.  All of the men were freaked out for the women to leave, it was quite funny to see them the first night trying to put kids to bed & trying not to break down within the first five minutes.  Some of the kids were...well, assholes when their mom's got on the train to leave though I'm sure I would have been the same way when I was that little too.

Clearly I wasn't all that impressed by this show because I completely forgot to watch it again except for a few minutes of the second episode...I think it was the second.  Anyway, I was at a friend's house and was walking through the kitchen & I heard one woman say that another one of the women had already gone back home because she missed her husband too much.  I said out loud "are you freaking kidding me?" and then they showed the woman who left & she said that she "wanted" to go home, she didn't "need" to.  I decided that this show was not for me because I don't buy that shit.

All You Can Meat...my review

All You Can Meat is a new series that airs on Travel Channel & premiered this past week after the finale of Best Sandwich in America which by the way let me say congrats to Slow's for their Yardbird which made it to the top three!!  So this new show is all about meat & so am I which means that this is already a series recording on my DVR.  The host is Chuey Martinez & the first episode featured him travelling around the country eating pulled pork which happens to be one of my absolute favorite things.  My mouth watered, I sat there drooling & wishing that I had the tasty food that he was eating.  The second episode was all about brisket which I also love and I was extremely excited to see that next week the episode focus is ribs which are on the top of meat list as well.

The setup & design of the show don't reall need any major description, it's 30 minutes & he visits 3 places so it's clips right along making your mouth water just enough to wish you hadn't eaten so much at dinner.  If you like meat you'll love this show so watch it.

Gallery Girls, I watched it

Gallery Girls, Gallery Girls...I'm not quite sure what to say about these ladies...wait, yes I am, they are all a mess!  First we'll start with the Manhattan girls & first is Amy, originally from Coral Gables who I swore was the girl who played Cindy in the Brady Bunch movies!  She's blonde & drinks a lot & is always anywhere that's anywhere to network, especially if there's free booze.  Her daddy pays for everything for her.  I'm not a big fan of her at this point, she's so fake & drunk, it's just not attractive but she's got quite a history in gallery work so she must know her shit.

Kerri is originally from Long Island & she works full time as a high-end concierge to the rich & famous but she also works an internship as well.  She has always had a love for art so she really wants to be working in that world rather than one she's in but she also needs money since she pays for her own apartment in Manhattan. Kerri is my favorite Manhattan girl because she seems "normal".

We also have Liz, originally from Florida who is kind of likable but also lives off of daddy's dime.  Her daddy is a big time art collector & while she was coming to NYC to make it without her father's connections she used one for her internship!  Her father is a very "plain Jack" kind of guy, jeans & t-shirts and a bit shaggy but for those who know him know that he's a big deal.  She name drops him all the time in her interviews which is pretty annoying.  On her first day at her internship she complained about the work she was doing & in her interview said "I'm happy to do anything that involves sitting down or using the phone" and made a remark about calling her dad to complain if that wasn't the case.  We'll see what happens with her because I'm on the fence about this one.

The last Manhattan gal is Maggie who is originally from Easton, PA & so far I don't like her.  She's another one who is really thin & she's pretty whiny.  She also appears to have possibly had a fling with one of the gallery owners who mind you...is super gross.  I can't stand watching her on screen because she constantly has her hands in her hair...I mean constantly, it's so freaking annoying, I want to shave her head.

Now we move over to the other side of the bridge & first up in Brooklyn is Angela who is originally from the OC & was raised in a strict Vietnamese household.  She's a photographer, model, waitress who loves the arts & is extremely outgoing & loves the spotlight.  I'm not really sure why she's a main character on the show though, she's not a gallery girl.  Then again, most of the Housewives aren't actually wives either!

Next in Brooklyn is Chantal who is originally from Atlanta & doesn't wax her eyebrows.  This girl is super thin, always wears dark red lipstick & after she's been drinking it's all over her face & teeth & she gets pretty sloppy when she's drinking.  Chantal & Claudia (both names that make me cringe by the way) own their own "gallery" & Chantal just loves telling everyone at every opening that she owns a gallery.  Dude, it's a boutique with art...they sell clothes, jewelry, accessories & they also display & sell art.  Right off the bat I don't like this girl, I don't think she's going to be good for business.  Regardless of your opinions of people you have to make nice in business & when a couple of the Manhattan girls attended the gallery opening she was totally rude to them & that's bad business.

That brings us to Claudia who also doesn't wax her eyebrows either & is originally from Flossmoor, IL.  I like Claudia more than Chantal but I'm still not sure that I like her, she has valid points but she's also a bit obnoxious with her constant bitching.  She's the part owner of the "gallery" End of Century with Chantal & her family gave the most money to get the store up & running so she's in a constant panic about money & they hadn't even opened yet.  I'll make my mind up next week how I feel about this girl.

All in all this show is what I expected it would be & I don't know that I'm all that impressed with it.  I will give it two more episodes to see if it tickles my fancy but I can't really identify with these girls so perhaps that's why it's not really doing it for me.

Honey Boo Boo...I watched it

Where do I start with Here Comes Honey Boo Boo?  This show is one of those shows that I couldn't believe I was watching but couldn't turn off.  This family is the epitome of real & the epitome of white trash & I think that's why I liked it.  Yes, I liked it! I was entertained by these people, they are a family of mom, dad 4 girls & a pet pig...yup a pet pig & it's a boy & his name is Glitzy but that's not even the half of it...here's the rest of the names, enjoy.  Mamma, Sugar Bear (dad), Pumpkin, Chickadee & Chubbs!  One is 17 & pregnant but after only one episode I still can't keep the family members straight.

In the first episode we saw Boo Boo compete in a natural pageant, we saw the whole family go to some Redneck Games that included events like "bobbing for pig feet" & "mud belly flops" which members of the family participated in.  They live in Georgia & have southern accents & they way they phrase things makes it difficult to understand but thankfully TLC shows subtitles as needed.  Also in the episode we saw the pregs go in for one of those creepy ultrasounds with the orange 3-D babies & Boo Boo wanted to see if they could see her chicken nuggets in her belly so they checked her out too.  We also saw Boo Boo compete in a natural pageant which means no makeup or tans and she didn't win anything & got very upset but prior to the pageant she got wasted on sugar & was acting like a maniac in the lobby, it was funny.  Because she didn't win the family knew they would need to hire all new coaches & get all new outfits before the big pageant at the end of the season.

We saw the family go to the weekly food auction...oh, let me go back a second, mamma & one of the kids are on a diet...and watched them buy cookies, cakes, chips & the like when they were there for pageant stuff & pig stuff both of which they got nothing for.  A few of the girls weighed themselves & when mamma got on the scale she got an E...after a second shot it showed her weight & she was over 300 & said she'd like to lose 100 pounds.  If I'm not mistaken they were all eating cheese balls after the weigh-in too, I loved it!! I cannot wait to watch this season unfold & see the shenanigans this family gets into...they sure do laugh a lot & that is really refreshing.  This one is getting a series recording on my DVR.
