Nikita Premieres tonight

Tonight at 8 PM on CW The Vampire Diaries returns for a new season & then following it at 9 is the new CW show Nikita which I assume is a spin/remake of La Femme Nikita but I have no clue if that's true or not, I won't be tuning in to either one as Thursdays will be very busy for me starting the 23rd when NBC sitcoms & Taye Diggs, I mean Private Practice return!

Tune in to CW tonight at 8 PM if you want to catch the new (I believe 14th) season of America's Next Top Model or you could also tune in to NBC at 8 PM if you are more of a football person for the NFL Kickoff.  After that up at 9 PM is the series premiere of Hellcats on CW & at 10 PM is the series premier of Terriers on FX.  Happy viewing!!

Happy 90210 Day!!

As most people know Beverly Hills 90210 is my favorite show of all time...not the new 90210, the original.  If you never watched it & want to see how it all began then why don't you check out the 2 hour pilot & see the Walsh's move from Minneapolis to Beverly Hills into the house that oddly enough in episode 1 is completely different!

Emmy wrap up!

Opening of the show
So, the Emmy's were on Sunday night & I of course tuned in for them & though I don't really care for Jimmy Fallon I didn't really have much of a choice since he was the host but luckily he wasn't really on the show much & when he was he was just doing the same damn thing...either singing or making a bad joke.  That's all beside the point though, the awards are what the show is all about & I have to say that I was very happy with the outcome of the majority of the awards.  Below I've posted the same list I posted before the Emmy's & my predictions are in yellow & winners in teal...those that have no yellow are those I predicted accurately.

Drama Series: "Breaking Bad," AMC; "Dexter," Showtime; "The Good Wife," CBS; "Lost," ABC; "True Blood," HBO; "Mad Men," AMC.

Comedy Series: "Curb Your Enthusiasm," HBO; "Glee," Fox; "Modern Family," ABC; "The Office," NBC; "Nurse Jackie," Showtime; "30 Rock," NBC.

Actor, Drama Series: Bryan Cranston, "Breaking Bad," AMC; Michael C. Hall, "Dexter," Showtime; Kyle Chandler, "Friday Night Lights," DirecTV; Hugh Laurie, "House," Fox; Matthew Fox, "Lost," ABC; Jon Hamm, "Mad Men," AMC.

Actress, Drama Series: Kyra Sedgwick, "The Closer," TNT; Glenn Close, "Damages," FX; Connie Britton, "Friday Night Lights," DirecTV; Julianna Margulies, "The Good Wife," CBS; Mariska Hargitay, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," NBC; January Jones, "Mad Men," AMC.

Actor, Comedy Series: Jim Parsons, "The Big Bang Theory," CBS; Larry David, "Curb Your Enthusiasm," HBO; Matthew Morrison, "Glee," Fox; Tony Shalhoub, "Monk," USA; Steve Carell, "The Office," NBC; Alec Baldwin, "30 Rock," NBC.

Actress, Comedy Series: Lea Michele, "Glee," Fox; Julia Louis-Dreyfus, "The New Adventures of Old Christine," CBS; Edie Falco, "Nurse Jackie," Showtime; Amy Poehler, "Parks and Recreation," NBC; Tina Fey, "30 Rock," NBC; Toni Collette, "United States of Tara," Showtime.

Personally I did think it was pretty cool that Kyra Sedgwick won for her category as she has yet to win & her show has been on for like 5 seasons.  Edie Falco winning for Nurse Jackie made me so very happy because I just love that show & I love her in it but I thought for sure she would get beat out by Toni Collette.  It's not posted here but John Lithgow won for best supporting actor for Dexter which I thought was awesome, I had predicted that someone from Lost would win but Lithgow played such an awesome character last season I really wanted him to take it home.  The same goes for Jane Lynch, I wanted her to win but thought that Sofia Vergara would but was happily surprised to see Sue Sylvester nab that trophy.  The biggest shock of the night was Top Chef winning for best reality competition show which freaking ruled!  For the first time in 7 years Amazing Race didn't win this category, way to go Top Chef!  I would also like to give props to the academy for not giving much of anything to Lost...that show sucked, granted I only watched the first episode but that was all I needed to know that it wouldn't be worth my time.  The full list of nominees & winners can be found here.

The Emmy's are coming, The Emmy's are coming!!

I don't know about you guys but it seems to me that these were just on but I think I'm thinking of the Globes since I recall Michael C. Hall winning for season 4 of the show & that's what he's nominated for this time as well.  Anyway, I'm sure a lot of pointless awards will go to Lost since it was the final season and all but I'd rather they go to people from the shows I watch & this year it's tough.  Almost every category out there has multiple nominees that I'm rooting for because I can never choose my favorite when my choices are Dexter & True Blood!  I'm sure it will be an awesome night of television fun although the awards are unfortunately being hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the un-funniest man on TV!  Here is a link to all of the nominees if you want to make some decisions for yourself but here are my predictions for the big ones, those in green are what I want & those in yellow are what I think will actually win (the one that has no green means I think who I want will win):

Drama Series: "Breaking Bad," AMC; "Dexter," Showtime; "The Good Wife," CBS; "Lost," ABC; "True Blood," HBO; "Mad Men," AMC.

Comedy Series: "Curb Your Enthusiasm," HBO; "Glee," Fox; "Modern Family," ABC; "The Office," NBC; "Nurse Jackie," Showtime; "30 Rock," NBC.

Tune in to NBC on Sunday at 8 to see who wins & who gets robbed!

Food Wars, in the D!!

Season 2 of Food Wars premieres tonight at 10 PM on the travel channel.  Tonight's battle is a local one, American Coney Island and Lafayette Coney Island which are located right next door to each other on Lafayette are going head to head for the best hot dog.  I think I may have to judge for myself though, my next free weekend I'm going downtown to eat both dogs & see if I agree with Camille Ford & the blindfolded judges who include Carmen Harlan.
