Men at Work, Dogs in the City, ANTM

I caught up on some shows last night and wanted to mention 2 new shows that I watched & what I thought of them & first up is Men at Work which I had 2 episodes of & watched both.  I was glad to see Danny Masterson back in a star role on a sitcom & I'm also a fan of James Lesure from Las Vegas so the cast is good, the writing is decent but something is missing.  I heard some good jokes but never laughed out loud once in the whole hour so I didn't set up a series recording, we'll just put it that way.

Dogs in the City wasn't at all what I expected...it is basically The Dog Whisperer but in NYC with a young cute Italian guy who goes around training people & helping them understand their dogs. I like the show & will likely make a point to watch it when it's on & I'm home but I wish the creators would have come up with a name that better resembles the focus of the show.  The ads I've been seeing in my magazines make the show look (to me) like a reality show about people living in NYC who have dogs & I much prefer the real premise of the show.

On to ANTM...per usual I was doing other things while watching this so I saw Laura have the panic attack, the runway show, the judging & the winner being announced.  I was not at all surprised that Sophie won, Brit or not she is a much better model in general so she should be a British American top model.  I will not be watching the next season...the only people remaining on will be Tyra & Kelly Cutrone so without the Jays & Nigel I am done, I can't watch just for Kelly!

Dogs in the City premieres

Tonight at 8:00 on CBS is the series premiere of Dogs in the City & I'm going to watch this to see if it's just as ridiculous & stupid as it sounds.  I'm a new dog owner & I love my dog, dress her up & treat her like a kid but a TV show about her & her pooch friends seems a little far fetched.  Also up at 8 is the 2nd season premiere of Melissa & Joey on ABC Family.

At 9:00 on CW is the 18th season finale of America's Next Top Model.  On at 10:00 is the 3rd season premiere of BBQ Pit Masters on DA.  Toddlers & Tiaras 5th season finale is on TLC & on SyFy is the 1st season finale of Total Blackout.

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

What's on tomorrow, May 30th?

8:00 - Dogs in the City, CBS.  Melissa & Joey, ABC Fam.
9:00 - America's Next Top Model, CW.
10:00 - BBQ Pit Masters, DA. Toddlers & Tiaras, TLC. Total Blackout, SyFy.

Top Model is back tonight!

The 18th season starts tonight & somehow this made it by me...thank god for my DVR because I had it set as a series recording. This season sounds interesting as its 7 American & 7 British models competing against each other. The British models were on Britains Next Top Model but I'm unclear as to whether they were all losers from previous seasons or if their season is now meshing with this one.  Anyway, I guess ill find out tonight at 9:00 on CW with special guest Kelly Osbourne!

Humpty viewing

Yay, we made it to the middle of the week & there is only one premiere tonight which is In Plain Sight which premieres at 10:00 PM on USA.

I will be watching the ABC sitcoms (if they aren't reruns) and then Being Erica at 10:00 on SoapNet.  I will admittedly be recording America's Next Top Model & I basically record it to watch over the weekend since there's nothing ever on, and I can FF through all the girls talking & the stuff going on in the house & just watch the photo shoot & the elimination.  If I have time I will also be watching Damages which I recorded on Monday & then I picked up the first half of season one of 30 Rock while at Blockbuster yesterday so I will likely try to squeeze in an episode or 2 if I have time as well.

ANTM Winner is...

So I watched the finale of America's Next Top Model last night and like I said in the previous post, I would be cool with whomever won but I totally lied.  I was extremely disappointed with the outcome, which was Laura losing.  I think Nicole is a good model in photos but her walk is awful and the girl has zero personality & those are 2 of the 3 most important things in modeling.  Laura on the other hand is amazing in photos, has a great walk, and she has the best personality I've ever seen, her only flaw is the way she dresses.  Well, I guess my pick can't win every season but this really bums me out!  I wonder if next season they will do all plus size models?  When is this show going to end?  I mean, how many out of work top models can she keep creating?  I do see some of the girls in the occasional ad, commercial, or movie/TV show, but 95% of the time it's girls who didn't win.  I never see the winner in any Cover Girl ads even though they supposedly have a contract with them but whatever, I'm sure I will be seeing Laura all over the place!!  So, congrats Nicole, you grew a lot but I still don't think you deserve it so make sure you really work it & earn what you won.

ANTM Final 2!

OMG, last night's episode was kind of scary for me...I haven't been too impressed with this season of America's Next Top Model but with a cast of short chicks I couldn't pass it up!  So, from the get go I've been rooting for Laura, the southern girl who lives on a farm & castrates bulls for a living (that's her in the photo) and I'm so happy that she's in the final 2.  The 2 girls I couldn't stand went home & the 2 girls I liked the most are the top 2 for the finale this coming week so regardless of who wins I'll be happy although I still hope it's Laura.  The other girl Nicole is kind of awkward & her personality in person is kind of meh but then there's Laura who has a thick southern accent but is super bubbly & friendly in person.  When it comes to photos it's a toss up because they both take beautiful pictures and judging by the preview for the finale they both appear to struggle with their Cover Girl commercials so I'm guessing the final straw is going to be the runway show.

They are doing a runway show in Hawaii for a designer that I can't recall at the moment but it looks like a good show with water & wind & fire & all that fun stuff so I hope Laura can rock it but if she doesn't win I won't be totally upset.  The finale airs Wednesday the 18th at 8 pm on The CW, for more info or to watch full episodes check the link to the CW on the left side of the page.

9 Hour DVR Roundup!

Ok people, I spent all weekend watching the 9 hours worth of TV that was piled up on my DVR from last week.  Some of it I need to comment on, some of it was obviously not that great because I have no comment.  Speaking of stuff being not that great I really wonder why I bother with 90210, Melrose Place, and Glee.  Now the difference between Glee & the other two is that it's a good show & I enjoy it but I wish it were just a half hour...I don't think they have enough entertainment value to fill a whole hour & they could certainly cut out a couple story lines to make it shorter.  The knocked up cheerleader & the guidance counselor w/the football coach are both useless stories in my opinion & I think the focus of the show should be Glee & the Cheerios & that's it.  90210 isn't so bad aside from the fact that is extremely predictable & half of the actors aren't very good.  Melrose would be better if it replaced about 50% of it's cast & I'm sorry but the blond chick is one of the worst actors ever, could she be any more over exaggerated?

Ok, on to the good stuff!  Nip Tuck is having another crazy season & it makes me very sad that it's the last one but can I please ask why the hell do Sean or Christian even have kids?  None of the kids are ever on the show, not even Matt lately (other than his miming robberies) so I'm super confused.  I feel like they are just throwing all this stuff into this season since it's the last & it's hard to keep up with but I'm still totally intrigued.  I totally think shit is going to go down with Mike & Kimber & I certainly don't blame her & love the fact that the heat he is packing is way larger than Christian's!  Looks like things are going to get more crazy next week with Teddy & Sean & I'm wondering if crazy fork girl will be back, I guess we shall see.

Brothers & Sisters is a show I was going to drop this season because I'm so sick of every single episode containing a family dinner that involves basically a brawl but I'm really curious to see if Kitty is going to die so I'm watching but I haven't seen last night's yet.

Private Practice is interesting so far and even if it were the worst show on TV I would still support it because I'm totally in love with Taye Diggs.  I'm interested to see if Violet will ever feel that attachment to the baby without feeling the complete & total resentment toward it & this week's episode looks really good with the trial or whatever the hell is going on with the crazy lady who stole Violet's baby.

The season finale of Atlanta Housewives was a good one & I feel really bad that NeNe's husband won't support her wanting to find out if that guy is her dad.  I was surprised by how much I really liked Sheree's clothing line...I don't like Sheree but her clothes looked great, thanks to Dwight!  Kim's a drunk & Lisa is really fake & thinks a lot of herself.

Modern Family & Cougartown were full of laughs as always but I will say that Modern Family is definitely a better show & the gay couple make it.

NBC Thursday...2 thumbs up!  A decent episode of The Office, a deal breaking episode of 30 rock & a pit filling episode of Parks were a total ace with me but that brings me to the other show that I think I'm going to drop...Community.  I love Joel McHale & Chevy Chase & the show has a lot of potential but it's just not reaching it & I don't have the time to keep waiting.

Oh, I almost forgot Top Model...yes I watch it & I would probably like it a lot more if Tyra weren't on it but I'm rooting for the chick with the southern accent!!

I will have to post a totally separate run down for last night's Dexter, I'm still in shock!
