Sunday, January 12th...it's TV Overload Day!!!

On Sunday, January 12th I'm going to wish I had whole house DVR service & could record 5 shows at once.  I will have to get creative about scheduling all of my recordings, thank God for reruns!

At 8:00 it's The Golden Globes on NBC which will be on for at least 3 hours (plus the Red Carpet stuff before & after, ahhh!) and it doesn't rerun so I only have room for 1 other recording at the same time & the battles will begin at 9:00 when Shameless is back for its 4th season on Showtime & HBO has the series premiere of True Detective which I'm really looking forward to.  Then at 10:00 on HBO it's the 3rd season premiere of Girls and on Showtime it's the 3rd season premiere of House of Lies followed by the 3rd season premiere of Episodes at 10:30 but I don't watch that show so that saves me 30 minutes of shuffling.

Mad Men is finally back!!

At 8:00 on BET it's the two hour special Celebration of Gospel 2013, CBS has the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, Food airs the 8th season premiere of Cupcake Wars and on Bravo it's part 1 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion.  

On History at 9:00 it's the 6th season spring premiere of Ax Men, Comedy has the special Gabriel Iglesias: Aloha Fluffy pt. 1, on E! it's the 3rd season finale of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami and on AMC it's finally the two hour 6th season premiere of Mad Men!!  On Animal Planet it's the two hour 5th season premiere of River Monsters and on Showtime it's the 3rd season finale of Shameless.  At 9:30 on FOX it's a special episode of The Cleveland Show.

At 8:00 on NBC it's the 70th Annual Golden Globes and then an 9:00 on HBO it's the 2nd season premiere of Girls, on TLC another Here Comes Honey Boo Boo special, on Showtime it's the 3rd season premiere of Shameless and on NGC it's the 2nd season premiere of Wicked Tuna.

The Killing Returns

Just a heads up...tonight's episode of The Apprentice is 3 hours starting at 8 so hopefully everything else you watch on Sundays is a rerun!
Also on at 8:00 is the 2nd season 2 hour premiere of The Killing on AMC which I know a lot of people have been waiting for but people are also anxiously anticipating the 2nd season premiere of Game of Thrones on HBO which starts at 9:00.

9:00 sure is a busy slot on Sundays, PBS offers up a 2 part miniseries of Great Expectations that starts tonight, TVGN has the 1st season finale of Hollywood Girls' Night, We has the 5th season finale of My Fair Wedding. Over on Animal Planet is the 2 hour 4th season premiere of River Monsters, the 2nd season finale of Shameless premieres on Showtime, the 9th season of Snapped premieres on Oxygen & the 2nd season finale of Worst Cooks in America premieres on Food.

That isn't all either, the Showtime finales continue at 10:00 with House of Lies while Biography has the 2nd season premiere of I Survived...Beyond & Back.  The 2nd season finale of Master Class airs on OWN & on  NGC is the series premiere of Wicked Tuna.  At 10:30 on Showtime check out the 5th season finale of Californication.

Showtime Sundays are back on!

It is one super busy night for television & the premieres & finales kick off at 9:00 with the 5th season premiere of Ax Men on History & the 2 hour series premiere of The Firm on NBC & the 42nd season of Masterpiece: Downton Abbey, season 2.  Kicking off the Showtime premieres is Shameless at 9 & it's summer this season so I can't wait to see the Gallaghers have in store!


At 10:00 is the 1st season finale of All American Muslim on TLC, on History is the series premiere of Cajun Pawn Stars. Of course Showtime keeps. The fun moving with the series premiere of House of Lies & at 10:30 the 5th season premiere of Californication.  Tonight at 10:00 is also the return of one of the greatest shows of all time sweetie darling...Absolutely Fabulous!

Free Showtime Weekend!!!

You all know I love me some Showtime & they are having a free viewing weekend, Friday to Sunday...conveniently of course the new seasons of Shameless & Californication start Sunday as does the new series House of Lies starring Don Cheadle.  The show is a comedy & has some other great cast members as well so I will at least watch the first episode to see if I like it but if it's on Showtime I'm sure I will.  Of course not all cable providers are offering the free weekend like WOW which most of you probably have but if you have Comcast, Verizon, Charter, Direct TV or some others I've never heard of then you will be getting it.  Click here to see if your company is on the list & for the hell of it, if it isn't, I'd check the channels anyway & don't forget the free OnDemand too!
