2 premieres today
Well Dexter/Desperate Housewives fans, if you are missing Julie Benz or if all of you Shield fans are missing Michael Chiklis then tune in tonight for the series premiere of No Ordinary Family at 8:00 on ABC (personally I think it looks stupid). If that's not your thing or you're more of a Mr. Big fan then you can tune in for the return of The Good Wife
also at 8:00 on CBS (I can't stand Juliana Margulies) which I don't watch. I'll be posted at FOX at 8:00 for the Britney Glee episode!!

Sister Wives....
This show is like a train wreck...I don't really want to look but I have to, I can't not look, it's crazy! As a watcher of Big Love I was very much looking forward to this new show which is about a polygamist family living in (shocker) Utah. This family has 1 husband named Kody, 3 wives & 13 kids & they all live in one home which is comprised of 3 apartments. Basically the family has 2 working parents, one mom & one sad lady, and 13 kids ranging in age from 16 to fresh & they are about to welcome a 4th wife with her 3 kids so I'm assuming that the new woman must be divorced but I won't know for sure until next week.
So, wife #1 is Meri & she's the sad one...she has 1 daughter & has never been able to have more kids, she really didn't say much about what she does all day but given her sullen state every time they showed her I'd guess she spends most of it in bed. Wife #2 is Janelle...she has 5 kids but she seems to be the smart one; first of all she was a friend of Meri's & not a Mormon so ending up in the lifestyle she's in wasn't exactly in her plans & I'm sure that Meri wasn't really expecting her husband to marry a friend of hers either. On a side note Meri stated that she has jealousy issues but the other women really didn't seem to. Second she's the one who works all day, she leaves for work at like 6 am & doesn't get home until 7 pm or after & each day when she gets home her kids have been cared for & her dinner has been made by another wife. Personally I think she signed up for the union strictly to have free day care, maid, and a cook. Then wife #3 is Christine, she has 5 kids w/one on the way & they all have some of the worst names ever & she's the mom of all of the 13 kids all day, or at least the ones who are home...the rest of the kids are no longer home schooled & they go to a school for polygamists. Christine loves to cook & do woman/mom stuff so that's exactly what she does all day long. Robyn will be #4 but I don't know anything about her yet.
Now, watching Big Love I've learned plenty about these types of people but that is scripted TV so by watching this I'm learning a lot more & am more confused than ever. Since being a polygamist is illegal how can there be a school for children of polygamists? How can this show be on the air & these people not be getting arrested or at least losing their jobs?
Some of my biggest questions about this whole polygamy thing is why can't the wives go get other husbands to bring into the family? Why is it all about the men? What kind of women have such low self esteem & lack of individuality that they would allow other women to share their husband? I mean, I get the women who were raised in the lifestyle, it's what they know so they tend to stick with it but the others who weren't raised that way...how can they just look the other way while their husband is in the next apartment banging someone else? This entire situation of polygamy benefits only the husband, the wives get absolutely nothing out of it besides a stretched out vag & a lack of self worth. I mean, this husband reminds me of freaking Spicoli, he's in desperate need of a haircut & the prick drives a freaking Lexus convertible with a back seat that isn't even big enough to hold 2 grown adults let alone the not so lean 2 wives he has. Meri isn't bad looking but she's really plain, Janelle is a train wreck, and Christine is ok looking but not all that. None of this makes sense to me...if you are going to have multiple wives wouldn't you want them to be hot? Having to put up with all of that PMS & nagging from 3 wives & not one of them is hot...what's the freaking point? I can't wait for the rest of this season because I want to see some sort of mayhem at some point...with 17 kids & 4 wives something interesting is bound to happen.

Apparently so...I mean, I always knew that Dateline & 20/20 were on but usually most channels just show reruns of shows that aired earlier in the week, like ABC is doing tonight...you can watch Modern Family & Better With You from 9-10. There are actually quite a few shows premiering:
8:00 PM: Smallville
(CW), Medium (CBS)
9:00 PM: The Good Guys (FOX), Supernatural (CW), Dateline (NBC), CSI: NY

Is it a spoiler or not?
So I was on Facebook today & Mad Men posted a discussion about Ms. Blankenship's death & all these people went crazy complaining about the spoiler. Honestly? I of course commented & said "it's not a spoiler if the show aired 5 days ago" & people started going crazy! People were bitching about the fact that they live in other countries & are a season behind, people were complaining that they just hadn't watched it yet, and some dumb girl said "anything discussed about the previous episode before the next episode airs is a spoiler".
Are these people insane? I posted another note that said "Hollie, Betty has been remarried all season (some woman honestly thought she got married last Sunday) & to people who are complaining about spoilers for whatever reason...you shouldn't be following TV shows, the whole point of pages are to discuss the show & every episode of it that has already aired! TV in the U.S. is fair game once it has aired on the East & West Coasts. I agree with Lisa above (some other chick also bitching at the people bitching) that there should be U.S. & international pages."

Thursday TV is back!!!!
Almost all of the good shows are back tonight but I have no clue what is up with Parks & Rec...I heard they were moving nights but it hasn't started yet nor do I see it as an October or November premiere either & the NBC site simply says "coming soon" & that really grinds my gears! Anyway, here's all the other shows premiering that will hopefully take my mind off of the absence of Leslie Knope.
8:00 PM: My Generation (ABC), Bones (FOX), Community (NBC), The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
8:30 PM: 30 Rock (NBC), Shit My Dad Says (CBS)
9:00 PM: Fringe (FOX), Grey's Anatomy (ABC), The Office
(NBC), CSI (CBS)
9:30 PM: Outsourced (NBC)
10:00 PM: Private Practice (ABC), The Mentalist

Detroit 1-8-7...what did you think Detroit?
Personally I liked the show overall but did notice some inconsistencies like the "perp" calling his pop a soda & someone mentioning going to get a "slice" when we don't call pizza a "slice" it's a "piece". The people mover being some sort of a "bullet train" was quite humorous because it travels slower than I walk! The cop answering his phone while arresting someone was pretty dumb...no cop would ever do that, no matter what city they were in (not to mention he also turned away from the guy) but I know why they did it...had to build the big ending to the episode which I had issues with, why would they take cuffs off that guy just to hand him to someone else to cuff him again? They wouldn't not to mention that the detective wouldn't be the one to deliver him to his next stop...they have people that do that. My last complaint was the guy with the gold grills...it would have been far more realistic if he had been missing teeth...people in the D don't have grills. I will for sure continue to watch but I jut hope that they are able to correct all of the inconsistencies about the area.

Boardwalk Empire Premieres
This Sunday is the long awaited premiere of Boardwalk Empire which will air at 9 PM on HBO. Boardwalk Empire
stars Steve Buscemi as Enoch "Nucky" Thompson who is the Treasurer of Atlantic City after the passing of prohibition.
It's 1920 & the entire country is about to change, the war is over, women are voting, the market is faring well...so something has to give & that something is alcohol. All of the excitement in Atlantic City involving rum runners, gambling, and its close location to so many other major cities somehow involves Nucky who luckily happens to be the brother of the town Sheriff. Nucky does business in the AC as well as everywhere else with the likes of Al Capone & Lucky Luciano so I'm sure there will be trouble around every corner.

Hey Survivor fans
The new season of Survivor
, which is taking place in Nicaragua this season starts tonight at 8 PM on CBS. Up at 10 PM is the new show Outlaw, a Supreme Courtroom drama starring Jimmy Smits which will air on NBC.
Also up at 10 tonight is the season finale of Top Chef D.C. on Bravo! & we are down to Angelo, Ed, and Kevin & so long as Angelo & his douche bag attitude don't win I'll be happy so that means that more than likely Angelo will win because I rarely get my way when it comes to this show. In the commercials it appears that he gets really sick & won't be able to cook at all which would be great but obviously, not likely. Up after that at 11 is the series premiere of Top Chef: Just Desserts, hosted by Gail Simmons. The first challenge is chocolate...can you say yum?I almost forgot...the 12th season finale of Big Brother is on tonight from 9-11, tune in to see if Lane, Enzo, or Hayden wins the big prize!!

Gossip Girl is back!!!
Tonight at 8 on CW is the return of 90210
which I honestly can't believe it still on...I made it through 1.5 seasons & had to walk away...it was just stupid. Up at 9 PM though is a premiere I've been waiting for...Gossip Girl
! We obviously know that Chuck can't be dead but I'm really curious to see how that whole situation unfolds, not to mention Georgina's pregnancy & all of the other drama we were left with.
