Dexter this summer?
So, Dexter producer Scott Buck has said that the next season of Dexter...season 8 is currently being written to be the last season but if Showtime decides that they want to keep it on the script can be changed. Also I was very excited to hear that plans are currently to start airing Dexter in the summer rather than the fall so I'm not sure if it will be up against True Blood or if the plan will be to start it in say August. Nothing has officially been said or hammered out but the sooner we get Dexter back the better, right?
As for the season 7 finale...can you say OMG? I don't want to give anything away because people always get pissed when spoilers are posted...even when the episode aired a week ago so to read what Scott Buck has to say about the finale click here & be prepared for spoilers!!
I wanted to make a couple comments about how the show ended & hopefully won't be giving anything away but I was really bothered that Dexter didn't change his clothes & also bothered that Deb didn't have any blood on her when they headed back to the party, considering what had just happened she wouldn't have been so clean!

This season of Dexter...my opinion
There are a couple spoilers in here so if you haven't caught up yet don't read this. So this is the 7th season of Dexter that we are watching now and I hate to say it but so far after 3 episodes I'm not impressed. As most of you already know I can't stand Deb & she has such a large role this season that it's driving me insane. I don't like the fact that she knows about Dexter's dark passenger because it removes so much of the tension that kept me on the edge of my seat...all of the "oh no, he's going to get caught" is over & that's a huge part of the show. Dexter is spending so much time trying to convince Deb that his work has a purpose and not enough time killing people and that's the whole point of the show.
The second line of intrigue that I was enjoying was that of Dexter & Louis but the Russians killed him off so there goes that...I couldn't wait to see what Louis was going to do to Dexter but now he won't be doing anything. Now, speaking of the Russians, I'm really not liking this whole story with the strip club, the strippers & the Russians who own it all...it's boring, it feels a little to Sopranos for me, I keep expecting Tony to come out of the back room telling Batista & crew to leave the Bada Bing. I really hope that story line gets a little more interesting, more so than dipshit Quinn banging one of the stripper/witnesses which is nothing new.
Now...about this Hannah broad, I'm not sure if she's going to be a new love interest for Dexter or if she's going to end up just being connected to Mike, the cop who was killed in the first episode. It's because of Mike that this whole Russian stripper thing is going on...one of them killed him & then Dexter killed the killer which now that I think about it is a big waste of money. Dexter kills these people while the police are wasting time, money & manpower to attempt to solve these cases...that's not cool! So these Russians are on to Dexter & are looking to take him out for killing their guy and I don't think he knows yet so I'm looking forward to that exchange & also looking forward to seeing what happens to Harrison. Dexter sent him to spend some time with his grandparents in Orlando which tells me that either he won't be in the rest of the season or something will happen to him & his baby-sitter while on their journey.
I have no plans to give up on Dexter but I'm about as into this season as I was season 3...basically, I'm bored & need more killing, more intrigue, more nail biting suspense and so far this season isn't giving me any of that. Also, like every other season...I want Deb to die, I can't stand the way she talks & she's gotten on my nerves since episode 1!
Question, did Dexter send the hand to Masuka & note that it was from Louis or did Louis send it? I could have sworn in the previous episode it was Louis who was drawing on the hand but then again Louis did send it to Dexter so maybe it was Dexter. Clearly I was confused by that part & probably because I was on vacation so I had a week off to forget everything that had already happened.
Anyway, that's my take on this season so far...what are you thinking?

Dexter and Revenge are both back tonight!
CBS has the 45th season premiere of 60 Minutes tonight at 7:00 and then at 8:00 the flurry of Sunday activity begins with the 21st edition (edition, really, a little full of ourselves aren't we?) premiere of The Amazing Race on CBS, on PBS it's the series premiere of Call the Midwife, Travel offers up the 2nd season premiere of Making Monsters. On Animal Planet it's the 1st season finale of Off the Hook, ABC has the 2nd season premiere of Once Upon a Time and The Simpsons brings us it's 24th season premiere on FOX. Up at 8:30 it's the 3rd season premiere of Bob's Burgers on FOX.
Dexter is back with its 7th season premiere at 9:00 on Showtime & I don't know how I missed it but I just learned that Calista Flockhart will be on this season and dudes...I don't like her but whatever, it's Dexter so I'll get over it. Also at 9 on Spike it's the 2nd season finale of Bar Rescue, on FOX it's the 11th season premiere of Family Guy, on CBS the 4th season premiere of The Good Wife, on Food it's the 3rd season finale of Great Food Truck Race, TVG has the 2nd season finale of Nail Files and then on ABC it's the 2nd season premiere of Revenge. I was hoping Revenge would be on at 10 but I'll still watch it at 10 and get to skip the commercials, all praise the DVR.
At 9:30 on FOX it's the 8th season premiere of American Dad and on TVG the series premiere of The Shores. Then at 10:00 on Showtime it's the 2nd season premiere of Homeland, CBS has the 5th season premiere of The Mentalist, Bravo has the first part of the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion and at 10:01 on ABC it's the series premiere of 666 Park Avenue. The series premiere of Destination Fear airs at 11:00 on Travel.

Can we talk about Dexter?
Dudes, OMG to the end of Dexter...I almost crapped my pants when Deb walked in there & saw him, I was so involved in him killing Travis as was he clearly and I started turning into one of those people in a movie theater yelling at the TV "Dexter, hide, hide hide" and then bam, there she was...I mean, obviously she would have heard him talking but to actually see him physically kill Travis, I'll bet that took away her feelings of being in love with her brother. How in the hell are we going to make it 9 months to find out what happened? I hate when seasons end with a cliffhanger like that...I find that it tends to build up the next season too much & then once the first episode airs I'm left feeling unfulfilled so I hope that isn't the case here.
A couple other things, I wonder when Dexter will find the box from the intern with the Ice Truck Killer hand in it & if he'll think that Travis left it there? I also want to know when Quinn will be sent packing because I could really do without him on the show, he's annoying & serves no purpose in the story line but they do need a hot guy...there is 0 to look at on this show so I'd like to have that fixed next season too.
My big complaint about the finale episode was the mural of Dexter as The Beast & the fact that for the first time ever on any crime scene in the history of the show the crew waited for Dexter to arrive before entering the house. I always love how things are made convenient & how did nobody hear him banging those holes into the wall? I guess it's not that important but I do think that consistency is key & that didn't match nor did the fact that Dexter had his clothes all clean & ready to go just hours after being lost at sea & swimming to shore. Did anyone else think it was inappropriate that Dexter went to his kid's school pageant in his kill outfit? OK, that's it, talk among yourselves!!

Dexter Finale Tonight!!!!!
Eep you guys, I can't believe that the season finale of Dexter is on tonight already but I am also very excited to see how this will all unravel. This season sure has woven a lot of stories & it even started seems to have started a couple of new ones that I'm sure will keep us wondering for next season but how in the hell will we make it 9 months again?
So I'm going to revisit with you guys something I was discussing with my cousin the other day...after all of these years how could Dexter not have gotten something on his kill outfit by now, or torn it or something? With all the sticky situations he gets himself into & all of the people he kills I find it very interesting that his kill outfit is always the same & still looks pretty close to brand new. Well anyway, tune into Showtime at 9:00 for this.
There are other finales & specials on tonight that I need to mention, up at 8:00 on TLC is the My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding special "My Big Fat Gypsy Christmas" as well as the 2 hour season finale of Survivor on CBS. At 8:30 is the first season finale of Allen Gregory on FOX.
9:00 not only has Dexter but the Next Iron Chef season finale on Food Network, a Real Housewives of Atlanta 75 minute special on Bravo. Up at 10:00 we have the first season finale of Homeland on Showtime, the season finale of I Do Over on We and then at 11:00 is the finale of Why am I Still Single on VH1.

DEXTER!!!!
I am so damn excited that Dexter is finally back...when the season ends I always think "how will I make it 9 months" & here it is, 9 months later & it seems like the last season just ended, granted I can't remember how it ended but that's beside the point. I cannot wait to tune in for the 6th season premiere of Dexter tonight at 9 on Showtime!
The other shows that are also on tonight are as follows:
7:00 - America's Funniest Home Videos, ABC
8:00 - Little People Big World special, TLC; Tough Love, VH1
9:00 - Big Rich Texas (finale), Style
10:00 - Homeland, Showtime; Hung, HBO
10:30 - How to Make it in America, HBOTuesday, December 14, 2010
Michael C. Hall & Jennifer Carpenter Split
They haven't even been married for 2 years & they've apparently been separated for a while already...seriously? So do you guys think that she started bugging the shit out of him the way she does the rest of us? Perhaps it was her lack of tits or the fact that they play siblings on TV? Maybe him going through & overcoming Hodgkins lymphoma was just too much for her to handle, who knows but I'm sure he was grateful to have her in his life during that time. Anyway, they are done so maybe now she can be killed off on the show...one can hope right?

Dexter finale follow up!
As most of you did I tuned in for the season 5 finale of Dexter last night & man was it good. This season paled in comparison to last season that is for sure but it was still really interesting & had plenty of cliffhangers to keep me enthralled throughout. I wasn't so sure about how I felt with the whole Lumen/Dexter saga that progressed & the romance it turned into but by the end of the season I was really hoping that perhaps Dexter had finally found someone, someone who could support his dark passenger but obviously, that wasn't the case. It seemed as though Dexter also hoped for the same thing from her & when he didn't get it that upset me too.
I thought the whole Deb letting them go thing seemed a bit odd...Deb being such the solver that she is I thought that at the very least she would want to see who the vigilantes were, didn't you? I mean, Dexter has to be figured out sooner or later doesn't he? Ahh, I'm already nervous for next season!!
Now the whole Dexter/Quinn ordeal was pretty interesting too because Dexter really hates Quinn with a passion so part of me kind of thought that Dexter might have the finger point right at Quinn for Liddy's demise just to get him out of his hair, especially since he knew that Quinn was out to get him with this Liddy guy but I guess his love for his sister took over & he did the right thing.

Holy crap Showtime Finale Sunday was intense!!
Last night was the 4th season finale of Dexter and the 3rd season finale of Californication and both of them were really good! Let's start off with Dexter which completely blew my mind and had me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire episode and then at the end, I think it's pretty safe to say that I fell out of it! In the beginning, Christine had just killed herself & Deb was back at the office trying to piece things together when Batista told her to go home & take the day off which she opted to spend with one of her dad's C.I.'s who took her to the home of another C.I. which ended up being the house that the Ice Truck Killer (aka Brian, Biney) took her to back in season one. This obviously stirred up a lot in Deb who began searching the history behind the connection between the C.I. and Brian which led to her discovering that Dexter was actually the brother of the Ice Truck Killer & that his mother was killed in front of him & his brother. While this was going on Dexter followed Trinity from the police station to the bank & in the process side swiped some guy who wasn't happy about it. While Trinity was in the bank Dexter hid behind his van & when Trinity approached he got him in the neck with his "kill juice" and pulled him in the back of the van. Dexter discovered that Trinity had closed his bank accounts & knew that he was planning on taking off so he obviously got to him just in time. As this whole process was going on the cops & the side swiped guy showed up and Dexter hit the guy & ended up in jail...with Trinity unconscious in the back of the van. Well, Dex got out of jail & Trinity was gone...he had gone home & terrorized his family & took anything worth value from the house & bailed.
Once back to the office Deb got on the trail that missing boys were also part of Trinity's cycle so she questioned the boy who was kidnapped & returned to his parents (thanks to Dexter) and this is where she found out about Trinity's involvement with the Four Walls builds. The crew went to the most recent build with dogs & discovered a dead boy buried in the porch cement & then were able to zero in on who Trinity really was (not the trucker they were looking for) & where he lived. When the police & SWAT arrived at Trinity's house Dexter (Kyle) was actually there looking for Trinity and hid in the garage & when he was found he noted he was there with homicide & even though he was there ahead of everyone else they seemed puzzled but let it go. While at the house Deb told Dexter about his mother & brother & of course Dexter already knew but he played it off like he didn't & acted very disturbed by the information all the while knowing that Trinity was on the road & he had to find & kill him!
Skipping all the bull shit Dexter caught up to Trinity & finally killed him (with his own hammer) & it was great to see him finally go down, I think I felt as liberated as Dexter did to be honest. Well, Dexter went & disposed of the body as he always does & then headed home to grab his bag so he could head to the Keys to meet up with Rita & Harrison. When he got home he had a voicemail from Rita saying that she forgot the plane tickets & had to come back home & then take a later flight so Dexter called her and when he did her phone was ringing inside the house. Dexter got up & found her purse in the chair with her phone in it & then Harrison started crying & Dexter walked into the bathroom to find Rita dead in the tub after having bled out (just like Trinity's sister & many victims) & poor Harrison sitting in a pool of blood on the floor. Rita was Trinity's final kill & the baby sitting in all that blood took Dexter back to where it all started...when his mother was killed in front of him & he was left in that pool of her blood as well.
This honestly shocked the hell out of me & I'm not sure why because earlier in the season I thought that Trinity was going to kill Rita although I really wanted him to kill Deb because I just don't freaking like her! I was finally getting used to Rita & liking them as a couple but now, what's going to happen? I mean is Dexter really supposed to be a single dad of three with a more than full time job & a killing habit on the side? I can't wait to see where season 5 takes this story because now all the balls are in the air, everything will change & I'm still a bit traumatized by Rita being murdered like that but I get it, Trinity couldn't just let Dexter do what he was going to do without making him pay for it first. Poor Harrison, poor Astor & Cody, and poor Dexter who was finally becoming a human with emotions & who truly & unexpectedly loved his family. I'm pretty sure that next season we will see a completely different Dexter who is even more effed up than he has been these past 4 seasons. Ok, the countdown begins...just about 8.5 months until the next season!!

Showtime Sunday!
Only one episode of Dexter & Californication are left & I'm going crazy wondering what will happen! Now that Trinity knows who Dexter is & we all know who killed Lundy all that's left is for Dexter to finish the job & remove Trinity from the game completely but it doesn't look like it's going to be very easy for him. Then again, if it were easy then what would be the fun of the show? Shit, one serial killer up against another provides a lot of crazy drama for sure...they are both so creepily smart & so similar it's tricky to not know what the other is up to. Here's my beef with last nights episode...Dexter is always extremely aware of his surroundings & when Trinity followed him to the police station he was right behind him in his usual gray van & Dex didn't notice? Now, about Batista & LaGuerta getting married...I understand they did it to prevent losing their jobs but aren't they going to have to start telling their coworkers & not just Dexter? I wonder how the others will take it? One other thing I have a feeling about is Quinn & Deb...I think that next season Quinn is going to put the moves on Deb to try to find out what Dexter is up to & then they will fall in love which he wasn't planning on, blah blah blah. To be perfectly honest I really wish she would leave the show...she's way too skinny & man-ish & I can't stand the way she talks.
Ok, on to Californication...this episode was a good one. I thoroughly enjoyed Hank having to sit through lunch with 4 women he slept with in the recent past & then someone that Karen slept with as well. I know he's a big player but I still think that him & Karen are cute together. It also appears that the truth about him & Mia is going to come out next week in the finale & I'm guessing that when it does Karen will not be happy & she'll take Becca & move to NY leaving Hank all on his own in LA. Personally I think the show could do without Becca...again, I hate the way she talks & her character could really use some work, unless it's just poor acting, it's hard to tell since I've never seen her in anything else. Now, if Hank does move to NY the show will be pointless so obviously something is going to happen to keep him in LA but I really wish that Karen would stay too. Maybe they could stay in LA & send their daughter to NY? I have to also say that I kind of hope Marcy & Charlie stay together, I mean come on...he got a tramp stamp with her name on it!! Marcy is my favorite character on the show so I just really hope she stays around for my sake.

Friggin Dexter!
OMG, this season has been so impressive and it just keeps getting more and more intense! There are only 2 episodes left and I'm on the edge of my seat and have been since the middle of the season. Tonight was certainly no exception & all I have to say is thank God Dexter was able to complete part of his mission but that Trinity gets more and more creepy and smart every single episode. Last week I was totally thrown to find out that the reporter chick is his daughter & learning more about the two of them tonight was definitely key info. I cannot wait to see how this all plays out & I hope that next season stays on the same note & isn't boring like the 3rd season. Now I'm off to watch Californication, I'm totally loving this whole Rick Springfield storyline.

Freaking Dexter!!
Can we discuss last night's episode of Dexter please? WTF? There were numerous points during that episode last night that I stopped breathing because they were so intense. For the first time I was actually worried that he might not get his kill on but thankfully he did because that woman was a crazy bitch & would have taken him out had he not been the genius that he is. I mean, the glove...what are the chances that years later there would still be a piece left inside the disposal? Obviously pretty good. My confusion was whether or not she had remarried & had another daughter or did she still have the room decorated from her daughter that she killed? Hadn't it been a few years since the murders or was I just not paying attention? How in the hell could someone do that to their own husband & daughter & not feel any remorse...wouldn't' have asking for a divorce just been easier? Regardless of how long it had been I'm glad Dex was able to take her out. Now, I want to kill Deb myself for choosing Lundy over Anton, I mean I know that she was all gaga for him when they were having their thing a couple seasons ago but he just up & ditched her & she's gonna take his sorry ass back? What is wrong with women...why do they always choose to give the prick a second chance instead of sticking with the man who loves them & treats them right? Anyway, I'm off topic. So when Deb & Lundy were standing in the parking lot talking I knew that one or both of them was going to be attacked or killed, not sure why but I knew it was coming. I actually said out loud "check your surroundings it's pretty obvious that you two are sitting ducks" and then bam the shots rang out. I'm going to assume for now that Lundy is dead given all the blood he was losing & the dead look on his face & I'll also assume that Deb will survive because she's a main character though I also thought that about Doakes & look what happened there.
So the big question is do we think the Trinity Killer shot Lundy & Deb? Why did Trinity do the "bump in" outside that building? Do you think the dropping of the keys had something to do with the kill? I would assume that Trinity wanted to be caught he seemed pretty happy when he saw Lundy & then he made contact with him as well but he's a freaking weirdo too. I mean, what's with having a drink with air pretending it's the next victim & why did he get into that fight with that guy outside the bar...for some sort of revenge bludgeoning? I mean, what if the guy doesn't frequent that bar? I just have so many questions becasue usually this much isn't going on this early into the season.

Dexter!
I'm like 15 minutes into the season opener of Dexter & can I just say that John Lithgow already creeps me out but the serial killer he's playing has me totally freaked out, he's a total effing whack job & I can't wait until Dexter kills him.Wow, that first episode was awesome, I'm super excited for this season but I really hope we don't have to see John Lithgow's ass ever again, twice in one hour was way more than enough!!
